Description:
Solanum surattense (Yellow-Berried Nightshade) is a perennial wild growing medicinal herb used as a traditional and folk medicine. Ancient Indian text Materia medica mentioned the use of S. surattense leaves to cure a wide range of ailments. Solanum surattense usually called as Nelamulaka (Telugu), Kantakari (Sanskrit), Kandangathiri (Tamil).
Pharmacological Activities: Solanum surattense have the several pharmacological activities including Antibacterial, Antifungal, Antioxidant, Mosquito lervicidal diseases (malaria, dengue, filariasis, yellow fever, and Japanese encephalitis), Antimalarial, Antihelmenthic, Anti-asthamatic, Anti-ulcer, Anti-diabeteic, Anti-inflammatory and Analgesic activity (reducing the tooth pain).
Therapeutic uses: Whole plant and berries have anthelmintic property which is useful for bronchitis, asthma, fever relieving, thirst and given in urinary concretions. The leaves have good application for piles. Fumigations with the vapour of the burning seeds of this plant are found useful for the cure of toothache. Also, It will help to reduce காய்ச்சல் (Fever), இளைப்பு நோய் (Tuberculosis), இருமல் (Cough), நீர்கோவை (Sinusitis), இரைப்பு (Asthma).

Dosage: Before morning & night food, take 1 teaspoon (4g) powder mix with honey or boil with water & drink after filter (or) as directed by physician.
