Description: Mucuna pruriens is one of the popular and important medicinal plants of India.
Traditional Uses: Seeds of Velvet Bean has a long history of use in Indian Ayurvedic medicine where it is used for worms, dysentery, diarrhea, snakebite, sexual debility, cough, tuberculosis, impotence, rheumatic disorders, muscular pain, gonorrhea, sterility, gout, delirium, dysmenorrhea, diabetes, and cancer. In India, it is considered an aphrodisiac, emmenagogue, uterine stimulant, nerve tonic, diuretic, and blood purifier.
Therapeutic Uses: அழல் (Pitta humour), இரத்தபோக்கு (Blood dysentery), ஐய நோய்கள் (Diseases due to deranged kappa humour), கரப்பான் (Eczema), வலி (Pain).
Dosage: At morning & night after food, take 1 teaspoon (5g) powder mix with honey or warm milk & drink (or) as directed by physician.
