    Description: Indigofera tinctoria L. (True Indigo) belongs to the family of Fabacea. Internal Uses: It is used for constipation, liver disease, heart palpitation and gout. The roots, stems and leaves are used for treating chronic bronchitis, asthama, ulcers, skin diseases and is useful for promoting growth of hair. The juice extracted from the leaves is useful in the treatment of hydrophobia. An extract of the plant is good for epilepsy and neuropathy. The plant possesses anti-toxic property. The flavonoid fraction of Indigofera tinctoria had chemopreventive effect against benzeo pyrene induced lung cancer.

    External Uses: Used as Hair Tonic Dye. Leaves paste is applied on hair, 20 minutes before bath, to relieve grey hairs and to promote hair growth. Also, Leaf paste is applied externally to heal wound, insect bites and skin disorders with itching. Usage: Equally mix with henna powder & take adequate quantity mix with water & apply to the hair (or) 50 gms with this powder with 250 ml gingerlly oil to make boil like thailam to apply.
