    Description: Ficus bengalensis, a genus of family Moraceae is a tropical, deciduous, evergreen tree of the mulberry family. F.bengalensis is known as common name Bargad and cultivated as a Garden tree or Spiritual tree. The active compounds isolated from this plant are considered to be very effective in various treatments such as dysentery, diarrhoea, diabetes, leucorrhoea, menorrhagia, nervous disorders, tonic and astringent. It widely used in diabetes in Ayurveda and Siddha system.

    Dosage: After night food, take 1 teaspoon (5g) powder mix with honey or water & drink (or) as directed by physician.

    Description: Momordica charantia is commonly known as Bittergourd or Bitter Melon which is an economically important medicinal plant belonging to the family cucurbitaceae. The immature fruits are eaten as vegetables and are a good source of vitamin C, vitamin A and phosphorus and iron. The bitter flavour of both the varieties is due to the alkaloid momordicine produced in fruits and leaves. Fruits and seeds of bittergourd possess medicinal properties such as anti-HIV, anti-ulcer, anti-inflammatory, anti-leukemic, antimicrobial, antitumor and last but not the least the important antidiabetic property.

    Traditional Uses: According to Ayurveda and Siddha, roots are useful in treatment of eye related diseases. The fruit is bitter, cooling, digestible, laxative, antipyretic, anthelmintic, appetizer, cures biliousness,blood diseases, anaemia, urinary discharges, asthma, ulcers, bronchitis etc. According to the Unani system of medicine fruit is very bitter, carminative, tonic, stomachic, aphrodisiac, anthelmintic, astringent to bowels and useful in treatment of syphilis, rheumatism, spleen troubles etc. Bitter melon is worldwide known for its effectiveness in treating diabetes.

    Dosage: At morning empty stomach, take 1 teaspoon (5g) powder boil with water & drink after filter (or) as directed by physician.

    Description: Ficus racemosa Linn. (Moraceae) is an evergreen, moderate to large-sized spreading, lactiferous, deciduous tree 15-18 m high, without prominent aerial roots. Ficus is an exceptionally large pan-tropical genus with over 700 species distributed widely throughout the warmer parts of Asia, Africa, America, and Australia.

    Therapeutic Uses: F. racemosa is commonly known as ‘gular’, and all parts of this plant are regarded medicinally important in Ayurveda and Siddha. It has been used extensively in the treatment of biliary disorders, jaundice, dysentery, diabetes, diarrhea and inflammatory conditions. The fruit is an astringent, stomachic, carminative given in menorrhea and hemoptysis. Fruits are used as a remedy for visceral obstruction, diarrhea and constipation. Also treated for மூலம் (Hemorrhages).
